Terms of Use
The service
Digital Library is a personal catalogue of books you own. You create a library with a name and a password, add books, track reading, and look at statistics. There is a website at https://digital-lib.com and native apps for iPhone and Android. All of them use the same service.
The operator is Mohammad Toosi. The service is provided as-is, for a small number of people, without a paid plan and without a service-level promise.
Your library
You are responsible for the password and for the recovery code shown at creation. There is no email reset. If both are lost, the library cannot be recovered.
You must not use a library name you do not have a right to use, attack the service, attempt to reach another library, or use the identification features to process photographs of people rather than books.
Books you add, ratings, and share-link contents are yours. Do not add content you are not allowed to store. The operator may delete a library that is being used to abuse the service or to spend the shared AI budget in bad faith.
Identification and metadata
Barcode scans, photographs, ISBN lookups, and title searches query third-party sources (Open Library, Google Books, Google Gemini). Results can be wrong. Every field is editable. AI-estimated fields are marked. Confirm before you save. The statistics are only as good as the page counts you accept.
Photographs are used for that one request and are not stored by Digital Library. See the privacy policy.
Sharing
A share link is optional, unguessable, and read-only. Anyone with the URL can open the shelf. There is no public directory of libraries. If you publish the link, you are publishing that shelf.
Acceptable use of AI and photos
The camera and the photo library exist to photograph books and barcodes. Do not upload images of faces, documents, or anything other than books you are cataloguing. Monthly AI spend is capped per library and globally. When a cap is reached, identification falls back to free sources and manual entry.
Availability
The service may change, break, or stop. Backups exist for the operator's disaster recovery. They are not an export feature for you.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, the operator is not liable for lost libraries, wrong metadata, unavailable AI, or data you chose to put on a share link. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, where the service is hosted, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live.
